John Arthur Ivester

Mr. John Arthur Ivester, age 87, of Toccoa, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2009 at his residence following an extended illness.


Born in Habersham County, Georgia on December 11, 1921 he was a son of the late Pink B. Ivester and Blanche Jameson Ivester. Mr. Ivester served our country proudly in the U.S. Army during WWII, and he was a retired employee of Chicopee Mfg (Johnson & Johnson) with 39 years of service. He was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church, where he was Deacon Emeritus, previously taught Sunday school and was a member of the Gideons International, Habersham South Camp. Mr. Ivester was preceded in death by his 2 sisters, 3 brothers and was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
