Curtis Milton DuPree, Sr.

Curtis Milton DuPree, Sr., age 71, of Cleveland, GA passed away Monday, June 29, 2009 at the residence, following a 3 year battle with pancreatic cancer.



Born in Leon County, FL on September 1, 1937, Mr. DuPree was the son of the late Curtis Mays and Mary Eunice May DuPree. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. DuPree was retired as a Sergeant Major having served his country in the U.S. Army for 15 years and the Florida National Guard for 26 years for a total of 41 years of dedicated service. During his military career he also served as an auxillaray police officer for the city of Tallahassee, FL.



Survivors include wife, Glenda DeMott DuPree, Cleveland, GA; daughters, Angela Harris, Montgomery, AL and Susan Williams, Wynne, AR; sons, Curtis M. DuPree, Jr., Columbia, MD, John Herndon, Pensacola, FL and Frank Herndon, Tucker, GA; brothers, William F. DuPree, Tallahassee, FL, Jimmy N. DuPree, Tallahassee, FL and Wayne L. DuPree, New Smyrna, FL; 6 grandchildren, Harlan DuPree, Connor Harris, Hayden Herndon, Emma Williams, Logan Guerrero and Nathan Guerrero.



Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 2, 2009 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA with Rev. Anthony Shore officiating. Burial will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens. Full Military Honors will be provided by the Florida and GA National Guard.
