Ulas L. Kitchens

Ulas L. Kitchens, age 80, of Demorest, GA passed away June 24, 2009.

Born in Leesburg, Cherokee County, Alabama on August 2, 1928, he was the son of the late Lonnie and Celliann Lindsay Kitchens. In addition to his parents, was also preceded in death by, his son, Marty Joe Kitchens and grandson, Ricky Kitchens. He was a member of the Cornelia Church of Christ. Mr. Kitchens was a retired employee of Mt. Vernon Mills with 47 years of dedicated service.

Survivors include wife, Doris Kitchens, Demorest, GA; daughter, Stacey Rene Taylor, Louisville, KY; step-daughter, Gail Nix, Cleveland, GA; sons, Johnny Ulas Kitchens, Cameron, NC and Charles Andy Kitchens, Alto, GA; step-son, Terry Alexander, Murrayville, GA; sisters, Lois Walsch, Atlanta, GA, Edith Skinner, Newington, GA and Joann Norton, Atlanta, GA; brother, Howard Kitchens, Fitzgerald, GA, 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, June 26, 2009 at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA with Martin Davis and Ron Cope officiating.

The family will received friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Thursday, June 25, 2009 and 12:30 pm until the funeral hour on Friday.
