Joy Cameron Horney

Joy Cameron Horney, 85, of Clayton, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2009 at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC.
She was born in New Orleans, LA, and was the daughter of the late Ashley Charles and Eugenia Gardener Cameron.
Mrs. Horney is survived by her husband, James Daniel Horney, of the home; a son, James Cameron Horney and wife Carla of Cincinnati, Ohio; a daughter, Dianne Peterson and husband Frank of Reston, VA; three grandchildren, Anna and Amy Horne, and Jamie Peterson; and a great-grandchild, Grace Horne.
Joy, with her husband Jim, was a long time resident of Clayton where she was a member of Clayton Presbyterian Church and a member of the church Auxiliary. She was a member of the Homemakers Club, a volunteer at Mountain Lakes Medical Center, and was an instructor and avid player of Bridge and Mahjong.
The family will receive friends from 6 PM to 8 PM on Wednesday June 24, 2009 at Beck Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Clayton Presbyterian Church on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 11 AM with Rev. Wendel Craker and Rev. Dr. Laura Landrum officiating. A reception will follow the service and a private committal will be held.
