Florence Chapman Hames

Funeral services for Florence Chapman Hames, age 84, of Clarkesville, will be held on Monday, June 22, 2009, at 3:00 PM from the Hillside Memorial Chapel. Rev. Furman Lewis will officiate with burial to follow the service in Hollywood Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00 AM until the service hour.

Mrs. Hames passed away Saturday, June 20, 2009, at her residence following an extended illness.

A lifelong resident of Habersham County, Mrs. Hames was born May 1, 1925. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Minnie Wall Chapman. Mrs. Hames was a homemaker and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Survivors include daughter Cindy Hames of Clarkesville, sisters Lois Heaton of Hollywood, Ethel Webb of Dawsonville, Helen Davis of Lake Hardin, and Mary McDonald of Hollywood, as well as four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
