Robert Lee Wetherford

Robert Lee Wetherford died Tuesday, June 16, 2009 in Northeast Georgia Medical Center after a short illness. Mr. Wetherford was a member of Straightway Baptist Church and was a retired mechanic.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Bill Wetherford; a son, Horace Wetherford; and a granddaughter, Hanna Wetherford.

He is survived by his wife, Ethelene Hooper Wetherford; daughters Janice Garner, Jeneva Edge, and daughter and son-in-law Jenene and Walter Smith, all of Gainesville. Son and daughter-in-law, Troy and Julie Wetherford are also of Gainesville. He's also survived by his brothers Junior Wetherford, Henry Wetherford, Adolphous Wetherford, Gordon Wetherford, and Johnny Wetherford, and also sisters; Grace Robinson and Vera Mae Wood. 14 Grandchildren and 17 Great-Grandchildren.


Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 19, 2009 at Straightway Baptist Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, June 18, from 6-9 PM at the funeral home. The Rev. Allen Passmore and Rev. Michael McInire will officiate.
