Kermit E. (Bud) McCormack

Kermit E. (Bud) McCormack passed away at home on June 16th, 2009, after a long battle with cancer. He was born May 29, 1920 in New Rochelle, NY to Frank and Rhea McCormack.
Bud was an excellent athlete in his younger years, excelling in football, baseball and track. While a senior at Ramsey High School he set a New Jersey state record in the long jump.
He was a veteran of World War II serving for 3 ½ years as a technical sergeant in the US Army Air Corps.
After the war, Bud began what would be a long and successful career as a sales and management executive in the coated fabric industry. He held senior positions with several companies over his career finally retiring from Intex Plastics in 1997. During his career, Bud developed a unique process for producing a vinyl fabric that was awarded a U.S. patent.
Bud was a devoted family man. He is survived by his wife; Jennie McCormack of Flowery Branch, GA.; sons Kermit Jr. and wife Suzie of Cumberland Center, ME; David and wife Cathy of Hopewell Junction, NY; Doug and wife Jeannette of Chesterfield, VA; daughter Jo Anne Wilson and husband Vance of Rougemont, NC; stepchildren James Osborn and wife Teresa of Lawrenceville, GA; John David Osborn and wife Carole of Roanoke, VA and Jena Schumm of El Dorado Hills, CA; 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda.
A memorial service will be held on July 11 at 11 AM at Memorial Park South Funeral Home in Flowery Branch, GA. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be sent to Embracing Hospice, 3180 Presidential Drive, Atlanta, GA 30340.
