Ivie Funeral Home announces services for Charlie Marshall Mercer, Sr., 59, of Talmo who died on Wednesday at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. Born in Duplin County, NC, he was the son of the late Lloyd Mercer and Eula Mae Brock Weston. He was a truck driver.

Survivors include a son, Charlie Marshall Mercer, Jr. of Talmo; a daughter, Paige Mercer Stone and husband, John D. Stone from Norcross; 2 brothers, Marvin Jasper Mercer and his wife Zara of Pink Hill, NC and Ronald Melvin Mercer and his wife JoAnn of Beulaville, NC, 5 sisters, Nancy Sensenig of Gettysburg, PA, Brunhilda Catherine Sullivan and her husband Larry of Mt. Olive, NC, Elizabeth Karen Hill and her husband Vance of Deep Run, NC, Seiglenda Carolyn Lofton of LaGrange, NC and Doris Charlene Woods and her husband Nicky of Kinston, NC; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Charlie Marshall Mercer, Sr. will be conducted on Sunday at 3 p.m. from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with Rev. Henry Webb officiating. Interment will follow in the Jackson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1-3 p.m.
