Brenda Nell Whelchel

Brenda Whelchel, age 67, of Britt Whitmire Road, Gainesville, Georgia, passed away at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 11:00 am at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with interment to following in the Mt. Vernon Baptist Cemetery. Reverend Steve Baker, Reverend Jack Pierce, and Reverend Dean Bryant will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 9, 2009 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 9:00 pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home North- Riverside Chapel.

Mrs. Whelchel was born on May 16, 1942 to the late Henry Stuart and Nellie Pearl Chapman of Gainesville, Georgia. She was a devote homemaker and of the Baptist faith and an active member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. Mrs. Whelchel is preceded in death by her brothers, Jerry Chapman and A. Terrell Chapman, and her granddaughter Paislee Loren Page.

Mrs. Whelchel is survived by her husband, Charles Whelchel of Gainesville, her son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Janice Whelchel of Gainesville, her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Brian Page of Gainesville, her grandchildren, Elisha Whelchel, Nikki Page, Jordy Page, Brisa Page all of Gainesville, her sister, Sue Reidling of Gainesville, her sister-in-laws, Bonnie Chapman and Sue Chapman of Gainesville, and a number of nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
