Steven Allen Meffert

Obituary Date: Thursday, June 4, 2009
Mr. Steven Allen Meffert, 61 of Gainesville, Ga. died Thursday June 4, 2009 at his residence.

Born in St. Louis, MO Mr. Meffert had lived in Hall County for over 20 years. He was a former resident of Chattanooga, TN. He was retired from the Chattanooga Housing Authority where he worked as a construction project manager, he also worked as an architectural draftsman, worked with the Signal Mountain Fire Department and was a Georgia Real Estate appraiser. Mr. Meffert served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He loved to participate in Civil War re-enactments and appeared in several movies as an extra and minor parts. Mr. Meffert was a member of the East Brainard Church of God in Chattanooga, TN.

Mr. Meffert is preceded in death by his father, John "Jack" W. Meffert.

Survivors include his Mother, Shirley M. Meffert, Gainesville, Ga.; Son, Will Meffert, Gainesville, Ga.; Brother and Sister-in-law; Bill and Colleen Meffert, Tucker, Ga.; Nephews, Adam and Victor Meffert, Tucker, Ga.; Niece, Anna Meffert, Tucker, GA.; Uncle and Aunt; Harold and Louise Meffert, St. Louis, MO; Aunt, Nancy Brown, St. Louis, MO; Uncle, Harry Mueller, Highland, IL; a number of cousins also survive.

Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday June 10, 2009 at the Westminster Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Church Debardeleben will officiate. Interment will be held at a later date in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center, 2150 Limestone Parkway, Gainesville, Georgia 30501.
