Fannie Evalee Thomas

Evalee Thomas, age 83, of Light House Manor Rd., Gainesville, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an brief illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, June 5, 2009 at 11:00 am at the Memorial Park Funeral Home North-Riverside Chapel. Reverend Gary Osteen will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday, June 4, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home North-Riverside Chapel. After the service in Gainesville Friday, June 5, 2009, Mrs. Thomas will lie in state from 3:00 to 4:00 pm in the Oak Grove Baptist Church, Blairsville, Georgia with internment to follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Blairsville, Georgia.

Mrs. Thomas was born on June 30, 1925 to the late Ivie and Mae Womack in Gordon County, Georgia. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Oakwood Gospel Tabernacle. Mrs. Thomas is preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Thomas.

Mrs. Thomas is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Becky Thomas Jr. of Milton, Florida, two granddaughters, Regina Thomas of Gainesville, Alicia Thomas of Orlando, Florida, and her brother, I.W. Womack Jr. of Cartersville, Georgia.
