Claud Hubert Pirkle

Claud Hubert Pirkle, 78 passed away Monday June 1, 2009 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville following an extended illness.

Mr. Pirkle was employed for much of his adult life as a driver for various poultry companies. He first transported chicken feed for Martin Feed and Poultry where he was employed for over 20 years. He later drove for Bruce and Wilson Poultry Company (which later became Mar Jac). After working briefly for Everett Elliott Construction, Mr. Pirkle served on the custodial staff at Johnson High School for 10 years.

He was a member of Chestatee Baptist Church for over 40 years, where he also served on the deacon board. He was also a member of the Sardis Oddfellows Lodge.

Mr. Pirkle was born October 1, 1930 in Forsyth County, GA to the late Hubert and Lula Patterson Pirkle. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Major Pirkle, his sisters Flonnie Pirkle Harris and Thelma Pirkle Elliott as well as his daughter Sandra Pirkle Phillips.

Mr. Pirkle is survived by his wife of more than 53 years Kadeen Martin Pirkle of Gainesville, son and daughter in law Arlen and Colleen Pirkle of Gainesville, son in law William Phillips of Cumming, 3 grandsons Christopher and Benjamin Phillips of Cumming, and Brian Pirkle of Gainesville, granddaughter Cassie Pirkle of Gainesville, his â
