Frank M. Campbell

Obituary Date: Wednesday, May 27, 2009
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Friday May 29, 2009 in the Wards Funeral Home Chapel for Frank M. Campbell, 87, Gainesville. Rev. Darryl Womack and Rev. Kenny Sizemore will be officiating. Burial will be in Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday 2pm - 4pm & 7pm- 9pm at the Funeral Home. Mr. Campbell Passed away Tuesday May 26, 2009 at N.E. Ga. Medical Center following a brief illness.

Mr. Campbell was born in Madison County and had lived most of his life in Hall County. He was the son of the late Johnnie and Cordie Ingram Campbell. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and received the Bronze Star. Mr. Campbell worked at Gainesville Mill, was a Building Contractor and retired from Colonial Bread Company. He was a member of Montgomery Memorial Baptist Church for 60 years, served on the Deacon Board, for 25 years was Sunday School Superintendant, served as Usher and was a member of the Golden Ambassadors. In his earlier years he played in the Industrial League Baseball for Gainesville Mill. He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan, loved fishing and putting puzzles together. Mr. Campbell was preceded in death by his 2 brothers Lloyd J. Campbell, John Willy Campbell and step- mother Edra Campbell.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years Lillie Mae Campbell of Gainesville. Daughter Linda Carpenter of Gainesville; Daughter & son-in-law Mary & Ricky Hope of Cumming, Ga.; Brothers and sisters-in-law Randall & Peggy Campbell, Joe & Connie Campbell all of Cleveland; Brother Coy Campbell of Cleveland; Sister-in-law Lydia Campbell of Morrow, Ga.; Aunts Rosie Dorsey of Cleveland and Allene Ingram, Danielsville, Ga.; Grandchildren Tabetha Rayle and Jerry Palmer of Clarksville, Ga., Alicia and Jason Swoszowski of Gainesville, Jonathan and Kari Carpenter of Gainesville; Great Grandchildren Taylor and Trace Swoszowski and Griffin Campbell Palmer. And a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
