Brennie Wilson Alexander

Memorial Park South Funeral Home of Flowery Branch announces the death of Mrs. Brennie Wilson Alexander, age 83, of Oakwood who passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2009.


Mrs. Alexander was a member of Oakwood First Baptist Church for over forty years as an assistant teacher and member of the Fidelis Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Wisdom Circle Senior Group, and was a dedicated prayer warrior. She was preceded in death by infant twin sons, Bobby and Billy Alexander; infant grandson, Caden Chambers; sons-in-law, Pete Peters and David Paulk; sisters-in-law, Sarah Wilson and Bonnie Wilson: brother, Morris Caldwell.



Mrs. Alexander was retired from Dundee Mills in Oakwood.


She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchilren; and enjoyed her last years watching her family grow and attending church.


Survivors include her daughters: Elaine Reed and husband Gary of Oakwood; Deborah Dyar and husband Paul of Anderson, South Carolina; Kathy Irwin and husband Jimmy of Flowery Branch; Benita Paulk of Anderson, South Carolina; Rebecca Alexander and husband Mustafa Al-Sharaify of Oakwood; sons: Phillip Alexander and wife Tara of Lula; Ken Alexander and wife Rachel of Flowery Branch; brother: L.B. Wilson of Zephur Hills, Florida; sisters: Betty Aubrey and husband Charles of Sebring, Florida; Freida Caldwell of Charlotte, North Carolina; 18 grandchldren, 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.



Appreciation is expressed to special care-givers, Judy Enloe of Village Nursing Care; United Hospice, and Legacy Link. Special gratitude is expressed to granddaughter Alenna Paulk for her devoted care of her grandmother.


Funeral services will be held at 4:00 Friday, May 15, 2009 at the Oakwood First Baptist Church with Reverend Steve Fenlon and Reverend Ken Cann officiating. Interment will follow in the Oakwood City Cemetery of Eternal Rest.


The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM Thursday, May 14, 2009.


In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Oakwood, 3780 Old Oakwood Road, Oakwood, Georgia 30566.


Mrs. Alexander will lie in state in the church one hour prior to the service at 4:00 PM.
