Ellis Eugene West

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00pm on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at Montgomery Memorial Baptist Church for Ellis Eugene West, age 71, of Gainesville. He will lie-in-state from 1:30-2:00pm at the church. Burial will be in Alta Vista Cemetery. The Rev. Robert Kersh, Rev. Jack Hicks, & Rev. Darrell Womack will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 15th from 2pm-4pm & 6pm-9pm at the funeral home. Mr. West passed away on Wednesday, May 13th at his residence following an extended illness.

Mr. West was born January 4,1938 in Hall County to the late Wiley and Lula Belle West. He served in the U.S. Army. Mr. West retired from Colonial Bread Company, and had worked at J & J Foods. He was a member of Montgomery Memorial Baptist Church He is preceded in death by a daughter Linda White. Those wishing may make Memorial Gifts to the American Cancer Society, 2565 Thompson Bridge Rd. Mr. West is survived by his wife Barbara Head West, Gainesville.
