Mr. George Julian Davis, age 80, of Flowery Branch,Ga. died Sunday, May 10, 2009.
Mr. Davis was a telegraph operator for Seaboard railroad for 36 years. He loved all his family and loved his animals. He was a member of Central Baptist Church. Before moving to Flowery Branch, he resided in Colbert, Ga for 47 years and was a native of Toccoa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Washington and Pauline Ansley Davis and grandson, Lee Tyner.
Mr. Davis is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Grace Elizabeth Davis of Flowery Branch, Daughters, Susan E. Thompson and husband Jimmy of Florida, Nancy P. Thompson and husband Danny of Flowery Branch, Alice Miller of Mississippi. Sister, Marcela Kohn of Decatur, Brothers, Sam Davis and wife Evelyn of Powder Springs, Douglas P. Davis and wife Marlene of Dallas, Ga. Grandchildren, Allen Thompson, Eric Thompson, Jill Carpenter, Jonathon Tyner, Great-grandchildren, Ali Thompson, Ashley Myers, Kaleigh Myers, Maria Carpenter.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, 11:00 A.M. May 14, 2009, at Memorial Park South Chapel. Officating will be the Rev. Eddie Simmons. Internment will be Zebulon Baptist Church Cemetery in Toccoa Ga.
