Mrs. Nadine Harper Chastain, age 86, of Jefferson, who passed away on May 9, 2009. She was born on June 14, 1922 in Jackson County, a daughter to the late Walter Harper Sr. and the late Annie Lee Patterson Harper. Mrs. Chastain was a Seamstress Carwood Manufacturing in Winder and was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyt Chastain, sisters, Ellie Mae Seay, Bernice Mealor, brothers, Harold Harper and Walter Harper, Jr.
Survivors include Children James W. and Claudia Chastain, Jefferson and Betty J. and Danny Hughes of Hoschton; Grandchildren, James Chastain, Susan Ledbetter, Patty Phillips, Jason Chastain; Great Grandchildren, Blake Ledbetter, Amanda Ledbetter and Ashlyn Phillips.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 11, 2009 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Seay officiating. The burial will follow in the Woodbine Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Sunday from 5-8pm at the funeral home.
