Jewell Rohletter Welborn

Funeral services for Jewell Rohletter Welborn, age 87, of Mt. Airy, will be held on Friday, May 8, 2009, at 11;00 AM from the Bethlehem Baptist Church. Rev. Furman Lewis, Dr. Bill Cashion, and Rev. Tommy Stowe will officiate with burial to follow the service in the church cemetery.


Mrs. Welborn passed away May 5, 2009, at her residence following an extended illness.


Born in Habersham County on November 29, 1921, Mrs. Welborn was the daughter of the late Howard and Duskie Elder Rohletter. She was a retired school teacher having taught at North Habersham High School and at Georgia Industrial Institute. Mrs. Welborn was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.


Survivors include her husband Branson Welborn, daughters and sons in law Elaine and Hershell Norris and Patricia and Phil Neeley all of Mt. Airy, brother and sister in law Ray and Mary Rohletter of Demorest, sister Edith Smith of Mt. Airy, as well as four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
