Joe M. Walker

Joe M. Walker, 66, of Dawsonville died Monday May 4, 2009 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a short illness.

Born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, he had lived in Dawson County over 23 years having moved from Lawrenceville. Mr. Walker was employed in corporate management for Kentucky Fried Chicken for 23 years after which he worked as the seafood manager for Publix in Forsyth County until his retirement. He was of the Baptist faith and for several years conducted the ministry at Phillips State Prison in Buford, Georgia.

Surviving are his wife, Jeanette Walker, Dawsonville; stepson, Charles McClure, Young Harris; grandchildren, Regan McClure, Marshall McClure, Sawyer Abercrombie, Kris Holsenbeck.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday May 6, 2009 at 11 oâ
