James W. Anderson

Mr. James W. Anderson, age 85, of Murrayville, GA died Tuesday April 28, 2009 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA.
James was a native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County. He was a poultry and cattle farmer. James was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church #2 in Lumpkin County. He served as church clerk for 17 years and had been a member since he was a small child. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII.
He was the son of the late Will and Bertie Burgess Anderson and was also preceded in death by brothers, Rufed Anderson and Willie George Anderson; and a sister, Bonnie Bell Saine.
James is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lucille Anderson, Murrayville, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Carol Anderson, Dahlonega, GA; granddaughter and grandson-in-law; Anita and Mike Spangler, Dover, Delaware; grandchildren, Andy Spangler and Michaela Spangler. A number of other relatives also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Anderson are scheduled for 3 PM Thursday April 30, 2009 at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church #2 with Rev. Stephen Gerrells, Rev. Dean Bryant, and Rev. Les Fuller officiating.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3 PM until 9 PM and again on Thursday until the time of the service.
