William H. von Meyer

Mr. William H. von Meyer, age 83, of Cumming passed away Sunday, April 19, 2009. He was V.P. of Operations of Coca Cola International and Plant Manager of Hamm's Brewery in the 1960s. Mr. von Meyer traveled and lived all over the world and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in World War II. He loved working on his model trains, working in his workshop and he had a great appreciation of nature. Mr. von Meyer was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Yvonne Louise von Meyer.

Survivors include; daughters, Christine Louise von Meyer of Cumming and Susan J. Olson of New Glarus, WI; sons, William H. von Meyer, Jr. of Sugar Hill and Kurt W. von Meyer of Andover, MN; sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Prentiss Overby of Tampa; grandchildren, Tanner A. Duncan, Noah C. Duncan, David W. von Meyer, Kate Olson, Laura Olson and Gretchen Olson.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit 724 Pilgrim Mill Road Cumming, GA 30040.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 24, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit with The Reverend Father Newell Graham officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens with full military honors. The family will receive friends Thursday, April 23, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
