Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland, GA announces the death of Mr. Joseph Neal Timms, 88 of Clermont.
Services will be Thursday, April 23, 2009 in
the Chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home in Danielsville, GA. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 21st, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Alexander Funeral Home in Cleveland, GA. and Wednesday, April 22nd, from 6:00pm to
8:00pm at Lord & Stephens Funeral Home in Danielsville, GA.
Mr. Timms was born on May 4th 1920 in Forsyth County Ga. to "Judge" Joe Timms and Fannie
Holbrook Timms. Mr. Timms proudly served his country in the US Army Air Corps, he graduated from Piedmont College and George Peabody College.
Mr. Timms was with the Gwinnett County School System for over 30 years as an educator and as a principle. Mr. Timms was a member of the Lions Club as well as the Lawrenceville Masonic Lodge #131 F & AM.
Mr. Timms is preceded in death by his wife Vera Elizabeth Fitzpatrick Timms, his parents, and a brother Billy Timms. He is survived by his son Joseph Neal "Joe" Timms Clermont; Son and Daughter-In-Law, Pat and Melinda Timms Dallas, Ga.; Daughter Pam Timms, Ft. Collins Co.; Daughter & Son-In-Law, Jane and Scott Cleveland, Cleveland; and Sister Kathleen Timms Rogers, Cumming, as well as 7 Grandchildren and 4 Great-Grandchildren.
