Wallace Jarboe

Colonel Wallace Evans Jarboe, age 88 of Suwanee passed away Saturday, April 18, 2009. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at First Redeemer Church in Cumming with Dr. Richard Lee officiating. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D. C. with full military honors. Colonel Jarboe enlisted in the U.S. Army, Med. Dept. in 1938 at age 18, and commissioned a Second Lieutenant, Medical Administrative Corps (MAC) upon completion of OCS in December 1941. During World War II, he was commissioned in the Regular Army, and in 1949 transferred to the U. S. Air Force where he had three tours in Washington, D. C. at Hq. USAF. He retired from the USAF in February 1970 as chief of AF Medical Facility Planning and Construction in the USAF, Surgeon Generalâ
