Don Adel Garrison LaCount

Don Adele Garrison LaCount, age 82 of Clarkesville, passed away Friday, April 17, 2009, at her residence following an extended illness.

Born in Habersham County on June 04, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Dr. William Henry and Martha Garrison. Mrs. LaCount was employed in administration with the Habersham County School System. She was an active member of Level Grove Baptist Church, previously a 50 year member of Clarkesville Baptist Church, and the V.F.W. Ladies Auxillary. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by sisters, Peggie Stamper and Marion Porter.

Surviving are husband of 58 years, Johnny R. LaCount of Clarkesville; daughters and sons-in-law, Kay & Todd Wiley of Cleveland and Caroline & Ron Godzisz of Clarkesville; sons and daughters-in-law, John & Debra LaCount of Toccoa and Bill & Donna LaCount of Dahlonega; sisters, Martha Bird Garrison of Clarkesville and Gloria Brabson of Turnerville; grandchildren, Laura Waters, Eric Welborn, Shane LaCount, Beth LaCount, Taryn LaCount, Donna Godzisz, David Godzisz, Kristin LaCount, Brooke Stowe, Misty McFarlin and Whitney Powell; 14 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; lifelong friend, Birdie Moss and God child, Donna Stroud McAuliffe.

A celebration of life will be held at 4:30 pm Sunday, April 19, 2009, at Level Grove Baptist Church with Rev. David Godzisz and Rev. Brian James officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 pm on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center, 2150 Limestone Parkway, Suite 222, Gainesville, GA 30501.
