Billy Montgomery

Billy Montgomery, 80, of Gainesville died Saturday April 11, 2009 at his residence following an extended illness.

Born in Duncan, Oklahoma, Mr. Montgomery lived a short time in Savannah, Georgia before moving to Hall County in 1987. He spent 23 years in the United States Air Force and retired as a Lt. Col. He later owned and operated an appliance sales and service store in New Hampshire. Mr. Montgomery was preceded in death by his wife, Maree Montgomery.

Surviving are his daughters, Monica Carnes, Gainesville, Mauria Clark, Ft. Collins, Colorado; brother, Glenn Harold Montgomery, Modesto, California, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

The family will have an interment service at Greenwich Cemetery in Savannah at a later date.
