Dwight Barnett

Dwight Lee Barnett, 64, passed away April 13, 2009, at Emory University Hospital.

Mr. Barnett, born in Rome, Georgia, had resided in Cobb County, and for the past 20 years had lived in Gainesville, Georgia. He received his B.S. degree in Business Administration from Georgia State University. He was employed by BBVA/Compass Bank in Birmingham, Alabama, and held the position of Vice President and Georgia Correspondent Representative. Mr. Barnett worked in the banking industry for over 45 years.

Preceded in death by his father, Levi H. Barnett, he is survived by his wife Carol Craven Barnett, mother Ann Headrick Barnett, son and daughter-in-law Greg and Jennifer Barnett, granddaughters Bethany Barnett and Stephany Barnett, grandsons Noah, Caleb and Micah Jameson, brother and sister-in-law Randal and Charlotte Barnett, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Glenn and Claire Brown and Craig and Cathy Garland, and nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at Little and Davenport Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Thursday from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2009, in the Chapel of Little and Davenport Funeral Home with Dr. Marion Beaver officiating. Burial will follow in Alta Vista Cemetery.
