Betty Jean Smith

Funeral services for Betty Jean Smith, age 63, of Mt. Airy, will be held on Friday, April 10, 2009, at 11:00 AM from the Hillside Memorial Chapel in Clarkesville. Rev. Paris Whitworth will officiate with burial to follow the service in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Smith passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2009, following a brief illness.

Born on August 18, 1945, Mrs. Smith was the daughter of the Clarence and Gladys Free. She was a homemaker and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Smith; and brothers, Douglas Free and Robert Free.

Mr. Smith is survived by daughter Cathy Dobbs and grandchildren Amber and Christopher Dobbs all of Mt. Airy.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home, 5495 Highway 197 S. Clarkesville, on Thursday, April 9, 2009. from 6 â
