Winnie Delong Clark

Winnie Delong Clark, age 101, a resident of The Bell-Minor Nursing Home, Gainesville, Georgia passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness.

Memorial services are scheduled for Thursday, April 9, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Dewberry Baptist Church #1. Prior interment will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, April 9, 2009 in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Henry Loggins and Reverend Robert Bates will officiate. The family will receive friends after the service on Thursday, April 9, 2009 at the church.

Mrs. Clark was born October 3, 1907 in Hall County, Georgia to the late John Reeves Delong and Sadie Elizabeth Hulsey Delong. She was a homemaker and a member of Dewberry Baptist Church #1 for more than 85 years. Mrs. Clark was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin John Clark, brothers, Kelsey, George and Hayne Delong, sisters, Hortense Randolph and Betty Parker.

Mrs. Clark is survived by her sons and their wives, Bobby & Tonia Clark of Houston, Texas and Dan & Mary Clark of Gainesville, grandson, Kelly Clark of Atlanta, sister, Dorothy Maynard of Gainesville, a number of nephews and nieces, including one special niece, Sue Parker Jackson, who with her sister and mother lived with Mrs. Winnie for many years.
