Correne Herrin Seay Batchelor

Correne Herrin Seay Batchelor, age 75, of Martin and formerly of Baldwin, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2009, at Stephens County Hospital following a sudden illness.


Born in Habersham County on January 29, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Ethel Brookshire Herrin. Ms. Batchelor was a homemaker and a member of East Lavonia Church of God. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her first husband, Arthur Seay; second husband, George Batchelor; daughter, Kathy McCollum; grandson, Anthony Garrett.


Surviving are daughter and son-in-law, Emily and Wayne Garrett of Cleveland; sons and daughters-in-law, John and Sally Seay of Cornelia and Donnie and Betty Seay of Martin; 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren also survive.


Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, April 05, 2009 from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Butch Franklin officiating. Interment will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Austin Kelley officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Saturday.
