Donia Standridge

Mrs. Donia Mae Thompson Standridge, age 87, of Cleveland passed away Monday, March 16, 2009 at a private health care center following an extended illness.

Mrs. Standridge was born June 5, 1921 in White County to the late Hence and Lilly Allison Thompson. Mrs. Standridge was also preceded in death by her husband, Chester Standridge, son in law, Kenneth Nix and 1 sister and 6 brothers. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Temple Congregation Holiness Church.

Survivors include: daughters & son in laws: Margie & Robert Savage, Cleveland; Carolyn & David Helton, Cleveland and daughter: Janice Nix, Cleveland; sister: Videria Shealy, Gastonia, NC; grandson: James Savage; grandaughters: Rena Sosebee, Kristie Taylor and Laura Bray; grandson: Kevin Nix and granddaughter: Selena Nix all of Cleveland and 11 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and several other relatives.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 18, 2009 from the Barrett Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Hicks and Rev. Jonathan Fitzpatrick officiating. Interment will follow in Macedonia Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
