Ruth Hooper Evans

Ruth Hooper Evans passed away March 15,2009 at her residence after a long illness. She was born September 29,1920 to the late Lillie Mae and Charlie Hooper of Banks County.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Giles Evans, daughter Opal and son Leon, sisters Clara Hooper, Mary Rowe, brothers, Dallas, D.A. and Roy Hooper and niece Barbara Ruth Owens Armour.

Mrs. Evans is survived by her children Gwen and Bob Johnson, Valdosta, Brenda and Billy Oliver, Gainesville, David and Darlene Evans, Lula, Grandchildren Kimberly and Mark Johnson, Dunwoody, Karen and Chris May, Hahira, Shasta and Josh Gundlach, Gainesville, Jason Evans, Lula Great- Granddaughters Brooke Evans, Lula and Eliza Jane May, Hahira.Sister Dorothy Owens. Alto, Brother Ronald and Betty Hooper Sisters-in-laws Lorene Hooper and Rachel Hooper. Four Nephews and six nieces.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, in the Lula Assembly Of Praise. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Hickory Flat Methodist Church cemetery. The Rev. Scotty Poole and Rev. Robert Johnson will officiate and eulogy by Karen May.
