Mr. Felix Harry Freeman, age 88, of Gainesville, passed away, Monday, March 16, 2009 at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Freeman was born in White County on March 31, 1920 to the late Emory and Florence Quinn Freeman. He was retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation after 37 years. Mr. Freeman was a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher for over 50 years serving in Mt. Yonah Baptist Church and River Bend Baptist Church where he was a member. Mr. Freeman was a Gideon in the Hall County Camp.
Survivors include his wife Lorene Freeman, Gainesville; daughters and sons in law Florence and Howard Pollen, Vera Beach, FL; Bertha and Laddy Williamson, Gainesville; daughter Vivian Freeman, Gainesville; sons and daughters in law Richard and Paige Freeman, Commerce; Kenneth and Theresa Freeman, Gainesville; Gary and Lisa Freeman, Gainesville; sister Nell Brown, Sautee; grandchildren Michael Kiefer, Mathew Kiefer, Kirk Williamson, Mark Williamson, Felicia Lane, Angela DeLong, April Sisson, Amy Kelley, Jody Freeman, Justin Freeman, Chrissy Freeman, Leonard Walker, Megan Cash, Jamie Herndon, Mandy Cook, Ashley Freeman, Carley Stroud, Jay Freeman, Scott Freeman; and many great grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1 P.M. Wednesday, at River Bend Baptist Church. The Rev. Bucky Kennedy, Rev. Matt Wethington, and Rev. Jeff Saunders will officiate. Interment will follow in Yonah View Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
