Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mr. Joseph Alexander Smith Jr., age 45 of Cleveland . Mr. Smith passed away Saturday, March 14, 2009 at the Veteran Regional Medical Center following an extended illness
Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 19, 2009 from the Georgia National Cemetery.
Mr. Smith was born in Cleveland, Tennessee on June 4, 1963 and lived most of his life there, he was a self employed automobile mechanic by trade and had lived in White County since 2007. Mr. Smith served with honor in the United States Army. He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Alexander Smith Sr.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Janice Smith of Cleveland, Georgia , mother, Jewell Smith of Hickory, N.C., son, Jamie Ledford, Cleveland, Tennessee; brothers , James Daniel Smith, Cleveland, Georgia; Michael Lynn Smith, Cleveland, Tennessee and Tm Smith of Hickory, N.C.; sister, Alisha Vails of Hickory, N.C. as well as 5 grandchildren
