Charles Alan Eddy, 57, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away on March 13, 2009.
Charles was born Washington Court House, Fayette County, Ohio on October 10, 1951.
Charles Eddy was a devoted family man and was a deeply dedicated Christian servant to our Lord Jesus Christ. Charles served as a certified lay speaker for the Gainesville District United Methodist Church and as a lay leader for his home church, Mc Ever Road UMC where he also led several Disciple Bible Studies. Charles and his wife Pennie were called together to pastor Hickory Flat UMC in the Lula area. Rev. Eddy later served as associate pastor for Mc Ever Road UMC specializing in visiting the elderly and the sick.
Charles Eddy participated as a chaplain for hospice.
When he was not serving our Lord, he loved to spend time in his vegetable garden. He not only grew the biggest tomatoes but he also baked fresh bread to offer the best tomato sandwiches in Georgia. While driving through Rabbit Town it was not unusual to see Charles waving in his red shirt and straw hat sharing the daily special at his daughterâ
