Flora Floyce Brock Maness

Flora Floyce Brock Maness, age 77 of Cornelia, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2009, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness.

Born in Banks County on May 24, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Condus and Mandy Vine Maxwell Brock. Mrs. Maness was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church and enjoyed flower gardening and crocheting. She was employed with Carwood Manufacturing for several years and also served as a cook for several local restaurants. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, Alton Maness and several brothers and sisters.

Surviving are husband, Edison Maness of Cornelia; daughter and son-in-law, Betty Ann & Phillip Gaines of Mt. Airy; daughter, Janet Maness of Demorest; sons and daughters-in-law, Everett & Beth Maness of Dahlonega, Amiel & Kathy Maness of Lexington, SC and Jimmy & Sandra Maness of Clarkesville; son, Loren Maness of Cornelia; sisters, Florence Payne of Baldwin, Emily Simmons of Banks County and Eula Cheek of Toccoa; brother, Doyle Brock of Gastonia, SC; she is also survived by 12 grandchildren, five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are 2:30 pm Saturday, March 14, 2009, at Mountain View Baptist Church with Rev. Luther Williams and Rev. Jimmy Maness officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Friday. The family is at the residence of daughter, Betty Ann Gaines, 102 Edgewood Drive, Mt. Airy, GA 30563.
