W.C. Baker

Ivie Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. W.C. Baker, age 81, of Maysville who died early Thursday morning at his residence. Mr. Baker was the son of the late Orville Baker and the late Stella May Hooper. He was also predeceased by his wife Evelyn Leachman Baker, stepmother Cora Lee Baker, sister Modell Sorrows and brothers Horace, Shirley and Alford Baker.


Survivors include children Bill Baker of Athens, Danny Baker of Colbert, Guy Baker of Maysville, Jerry Baker of Maysville, Terry Baker of Commerce, Deborah Lavender of Athens, Gail Brown of Arcade and Mary Evelyn Baker of Athens; 30 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sister Imogene Richey; brothers Bobby, Calvin, Lonnie and Wendy Baker; nieces and nephews.


Funeral services for Mr. Baker will be conducted on Sunday, March 15 at 2:00 p.m. from the Ridgeway Baptist Church with Revs. Tommy Seay, R.M. Lacey and Bill Manus officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday and Saturday nights from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
