Ben Etris

Ivie Funeral Home announces services for Ben Etris age 66 of Maysville, Ga. who died Feb. 26, 2009 at his residence of an extended illness. He was an elder of the Homer Presbyterian Church, a retired welder and owned his business, C&M Western Wear. He was a member of the American Legion Post 215 Homer, Ga. Ben served four years on the S.S. Jenkins 447 during the Vietnam Conflict. He enjoyed horseback riding with friends, better known as "The Sacketts".
Survived by his wife Gladys Crane Etris of the home, Mother Hettie Hubard Etris of Homer, daughter and son in law Naja and Edward England of Maysville, Three grandhcildren, Jeremy England of Mayville, Josh Denton and Fiance' Naomi Of Commerce. Kristi and husband Matt Ryczek of Roswell. Three great grandchildren also survive, Noah, Nyland and Nallie Denton, Brother and sister in law: Mackie and Kathy Etris and sisters, Louise Cain, and Brenda Chambers all of Banks Co. and well as several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Oscar Etris, two daughters Evette and Tracy Etris, a brother Oscar Fred Etris and a sister Lois Nicholson.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 PM from the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Ford officiating and burial in the Homer Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family is at the residence and will receive friends in the funeral home Saturday evening from 7 to 9 PM.
