Annie Duke

Memorial Park South Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Annie Duke, age 97, of Flowery Branch who died Thursday, February 26, 2009.


Mrs. Duke was a member of the First Baptist Church of Flowery Branch since 1946, and a member of Flowery Branch Home Makers Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Flowery Branch Home Makers Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otto G. Duke.

Survivors include daughters, Annette D. Compton and husand, Jerome, of Flowery Branch; Kathryn D. Owens and husband, Rufus, of Winder; sons, Joseph R. Duke and wife, Bonne, of Clermont; son, Frank E. Duke and wife, Donna, of Flowery Branch; sister, Oma Lee James and husband, Hubert, of Cleveland; grandchildren, Melissa Breedlove; Christ Compton; Melody Wiley; Jonathan R. Duke; Bryan Owens; Janet O. Roberts; Angela Edwards; Genia Duke; Julie Duke; and 13 great grandchildren.


Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 28, 2009 at the First Baptist Church of Flowery Branch. The remains will lie in state in the church from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service at 11:00 AM. Officiating will be Reverend Chuck Nation and Reverend Paul Wade. Interment will follow at Flowery Branch Cemtery.
