Norrel Lee Stone Jr., 82 passed away peacefully in the loving embrace of family and with knowledge that he was loved and cared for by many. Stoney was born in Charleston, WV to Norrel and Ethel. He served in the Navy during WWII. He moved to St. Petersburg, FL where he met and married Hazel his loving wife of 53 years. A long time resident of St. Petersburg, Stoney became the operations manager and vice president of Maas Brothers, an allied Federated Store, where he worked for over 30 years. He retired in 1981 and moved to Clayton, GA where he lived with Hazel and collection of wonderful dogs until his passing. Stoney loved to golf, dance, play bridge, travel, and spend time with family. Stoney is survived by his wife Hazel, two sisters Jean Scraggs of Charleston, WV, and Nancy Clark of Charleston, SC. He also has eleven nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers Tommy Stone and Robert (Bobby) Stone who he is now with and having a great time of fun and laughter.
A memorial service at Beck Funeral Home Chapel to celebrate his life will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, February 22, 2009 with Rev. Jeff Houston officiating.
