Ernest Roberts

Ernest Howard Roberts, age 84 of Flat Creek Road, Oakwood, GA passed away Thursday, February 19, 2009 at Willow Woods Nursing Home following an extended illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, February 21, 2009 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend David Matthews will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 20, 2009 from 6 - 9 pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Roberts was born on March 30, 1924 in Hall County, Georgia to the late Otis Roberts and Montine Reed Roberts. He served in the Navy for 3 years during World War II, and then later retired from Chicopee with 44 years of service. Mr. Roberts was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church since childhood.

Mr. Roberts is survived by his wife of 62 years, Nell Roberts of Oakwood, 3 brothers, 2 sisters and a number of nieces and nephews.
