Gladys Joye Freeman Fritchey

Funeral services for Gladys Joye Freeman Fritchey, age 69, of Clarkesville, will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2009, at 11:00 AM from the Harvest Christian Church. Pastor Rick Cox will officiate with burial to follow the service in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Fritchey passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2009.

Born in Jesup, Georgia on August 1, 1939, Mrs. Fritchey was the daughter of the late Audie K and Mary Louise Steadman Freeman. She was a self employed farmer for 49 years and she was a homemaker. Mrs. Fritchey was a member of Harvest Christian Church in Clarkesville and she loved spending time with her family and church family. She enjoyed reading, sewing, gardening, crocheting, and community service.

Survivors include her husband John Fritchey of Clarkesville, sons and daughters in law John Allen and Nancy Fritchey and Morris Calvin and Becky Fritchey, daughters and sons in law Gladys Darlene and Jody Joyner and Gaynele Lambert and John Freeburn, brothers Roy, Carl, Malcolm, Gene, and Aubrey Freeman, sisters Janice Pierce, Trisha Freeman, and Genna Canup, grandchildren Clara Jean Shirley, Nicole Joye Lakra, Jennifer Ann Fritchey, Matthew Pete Harkins, Hannah Grace Fritchey, Calvin Craig Fritchey, Andrew Malcolm Fritchey, Chelsea Diane Fritchey, Jonathan Will Joyner, Ashley Lauren Joyner, Amanda Joye Joyner, Sophia Benfield, Stephanie Simmons, Zachary Freeburn, and Heather Freeburn, as well as 10 great grandchildren.
