Vera G. Cochran

Mrs. Vera G. Cochran, age 77, of Dahlonega, GA died Sunday Feb. 15, 2009 at the Chestatee Regional Hospital in Dahlonega, GA following an extended illness.

Mrs. Cochran was born in Lumpkin County July 3, 1931. She was a homemaker and was of the Pentecostal faith.

She was the daughter of the late Samuel Gilleland and Chester Vera Gilleland and was also preceded in death by her Husband, Thurmon Cochran Sr.; Brothers, Frank, Robert, Johnny, Y.D., and J.T. Gilleland; and a Sister, Irene Fortner.

Mrs. Cochran is survived by Sons and daughters-in-law, Thurmon and Doris Cochran, Lawrenceville, GA, Jimmy and Paula Cochran, Dahlonega, GA, and James L. Cochran, Dahlonega, GA; Brother, G.H. Gilleland, Clermont, GA; Sisters, Ola Palmer and Rosa Hill, both of Dahlonega, GA; Grandchildren, Bobby Cochran and Brittany Cochran. A number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Cochran are scheduled for 12 Noon Wednesday Feb. 18, 2009 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega. Rev. Lyman Caldwell, Rev. Tommy Ross, and Rev. Allen Passmore will officiate.

Interment will follow at Peachtree Memorial Park at 2:30 PM Wednesday.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6 PM until 9 PM and all day on Tuesday.
