Gladys Dodd Crocker

Gladys Dodd Crocker, age 91 of Cornelia, passed away Sunday, February 15, 2009, at Habersham County Medical Center following a brief illness.

Born in Habersham County on October 12, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Cloffy Lynch Dodd. Mrs. Crocker was a homemaker and of the Holiness faith. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and gardening. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Odis William Crocker; brother, Monroe Dodd; sisters, Lois Crocker, Bernice Owensby, Nellie Thomas, Evelyn Murray and Betty Hulsey.

Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Evelyn & Roger Shirley of Mt Airy, Virginia & Rev. Avery Mote of Alto, Frances & W. J. Clark of Mt Airy; son and daughter-in-law, Edward & Joyce Crocker of Cornelia; sister Sue Standridge of Baldwin; 08 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 18, 2009 from the Baldwin Congregational Holiness Church with Rev. Avery Mote, Rev. Bill Trotter and Rev. Sanford Kimbrell officiating. Interment will follow at the Level Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9 pm on Monday and 2-4 & 7-9 pm on Tuesday.
