Rickey Westbrooks

Rickey Westbrooks, age 54 of Carnesville, passed away Saturday, February 07, 2009.

Born in Jackson County on September 29, 1954, he was the son of the late Billy Joe and Violet Brady Westbrooks. Mr. Westbrooks was a member of Lamar Christian Church and worked in construction. He enjoyed camping, remodeling and spending time with family and friends.

Surviving are wife of 32 years, Janice Westbrooks of Carnesville; sons, Jamie Westbrooks of Cleveland, Phillip Herring of Mt. Airy and Joseph Herring of Carnesville; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Ned Johnson of Kingsport, TN; mother-in-law, Irene Gibson of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Katherine Westbrooks, Austin Gillespie, Preston Gillespie Herring, Kara Herring, Skyler Herring, Sidney Herring and Elizabeth Herring; also two nieces and one nephew survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, February 12, 2009 from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Henry Webb officiating. Interment will follow at the Old Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 & 6-8pm on Tuesday and Wednesday. The family is at the residence.
