Jimmy Foster, 66, of Dahlonega died Saturday, February 7, 2009 at Chestatee Regional Hospital following a period of declining health.
Mr. Foster was a lifelong resident of Lumpkin County and for many years he was a commercial truck driver after which he owned Foster's Variety Store. Until his retirement he was employed by Pinkerton Security. Jimmy had a passion for music and was well know as an accomplished guitarist. He was U. S. Army veteran and was preceded in death by his parents, Arvel and Lydia Foster and a niece, Carol Vandiviere.
Surviving are his children, Kathy and Charles Millsap, Dahlonega, Steve and Terri Foster, Dahlonega; sisters and brothers in law, Frances and Johnny Vandiviere, Dawsonville, Lois and Hayne Tatum, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Eddie and Amber Millsap, Amy and Chad Mobley, Tiffani Foster, and Jacob Foster.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday February 10, 2009 at 2 o'clock at Antioch Baptist Church. Rev. Emerson Payne will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends after 6 p.m. Sunday and all day Monday at the funeral home.
The family request that in lieu of flowers donations be made toward the final expenses.
