Dorothy V. Brady

Obituary Date: Monday, February 2, 2009
Dorothy V. Brady, age 71, of Dahlonega, GA died February 2, 2009 at Northeast Ga. Medical Center in Gainesville, GA following an extended illness.

Dorothy was a lifelong resident of Lumpkin County and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Lumpkin County.

Born April 19, 1937, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Leila Martin Riddle and Grover Riddle. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Ethel Riddle Mincey; brothers, Willard R. Riddle, Lloyd Riddle, L.G. Riddle, and Hughes Riddle; husband, Lucius Brady; daughter, Marcia Cape Davis Fletcher; and son, Anthony Scott Cape.

Survivors include sons, Randy Cape of Talladega, AL, and Alan Cape of Dahlonega; daughter, Denise Cape Bangs Brunner of Dahlonega; and stepson, Mike Brady of Sterrett, AL.

Surviving grandchildren are Leeland Davis of Lawrenceville, Adrienne Davis Smith of Lula, Kristen Bangs Hill of Hoschton, Christopher Bangs and Andrew Bangs of Cumming, Michelle Cape of North Carolina, Anthony Cape of North Carolina, Jesse Cape and Lucas Cape of Dahlonega, Caitlin Brady Vadini of Macon, and Megan Brady and John Michael Brady of Sterrett, AL.

Dorothy is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, a number of nieces, especially Bobbi Patrick, Ann Sheffield, and Vickie Burns; very close friend, Helen Burt; and special friends, Annie and Kenneth Pruitt, and Lynette Stowers. Special thanks to Oak Grove Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home on Tuesday Feb. 3, 2009 from 7 PM until 9 PM and Wednesday Feb. 4, 2009 from 5 PM until 9 PM.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM Thursday Feb. 5, 2009 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega. Rev. Allen Swafford, Rev. Terry Fields, and Rev. Russell Burt will officiate.

Interment will follow in Dahlonega Memorial Park.
