Laura Oneda Sorrow Smallwood

Ivie Funeral Home announces services for ALaura Oneda Sorrow Smallwood, age 82, of 133 Spring St. Commerce who died Feb. 1, 2009 at her residence of an extended illness.

Survivors include her husband Thomas Bealor Smallwood of the home, son and daughter-in-law Jerry Benson and Dianne Smallwood of Commerce, daughter Martha Gail Smallwood of Commerce, and daughter Vicki Dru Worley of Commerce.

Sister Jackie Sorrow Lewallen of Commerce also survives along with 8 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Smallwood was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Dorothy Louise Sorrow Jones and Willie Mozelle Sorrow Massey.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 4 p.m. from the Morning Star Baptist Church with the Rev. Lev Humphries and the Rev. David Poston officiating with burial in Grey Hill Cemetery. The family is at the residence and will receive friends in the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m.
