Little-Ward Funeral Home of Commerce announces the death of Mrs. Kathryn Wood Payne, age 83, of Homer who died Thursday, January 22, 2009 at Athens Regional Hospital Medical Cener.
Mrs. Payne was born in Jackson County to the late John W. and Odessa Poole Wood. In addition to her parents, she was peceded in death by her husband, John William Payne.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Donna Payne and Ben and Yvonne Payne, all of Homer; sister, Evelyn Lewallen of Baldwin; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Sunday, January 25, 2009 at Bethany Christian Church with Bill Moody officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Satuday, January 24, 2009 from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM and from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
