Rosa Lee Simmons Knight

Hillside Memorial Chapel of Clarkesville announces the death of Mrs. Rosa Lee Simmons Knight, age 91, of Sautee who passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2009.


Funeral services will be held a 3:00 PM Saturday, January 24, 2009 from the Nachoochee Unied Methodist Church with Reverend Lyndon Eubanks officiating. The remains will lie in state in the church from 2:30 PM until the hour of the service at 3:00 PM. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.


Born January 28, 1917, in Sautee, Georgia, Mrs. Knight was the daughter of the late Bill and Belle Simmons. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Knight. She was a homemaker and a member of
the Nacoochee United Methodist Church.

Survivors locally include Hank and Hayley Knight and their daughters, Ann Mariee and Mary Alice of Toccoa; Rose Mariee and Don Allison and sons, William and Edward of Cleveland; sister-in-law, Mildred Knight of Cleveland; and a host of other nieces and nephews.


The family will receive friends at the funeral home, 5495 Highway 197 South, Clarkesville on Saturday, January 24, 2009 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Nacoochee United Methodist Church, Post Office Box 426, Sautee, Georgia 30571.
