Doris C. Lackey

Ivie Funeral Home announces services for Doris C. Lackey, 80, of Danielsville who died on Sunday at Athens Regional Medical Center. Born in Cabarrus County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Walter Carter and the late Minnie Hall Payne. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Magdalene Foutz.


Survivors include her husband of the residence, Tom Lackey; sons Tommy and Deborah Lackey of Hull and Randy and Jayne Lackey of Ila; brother Kenneth Payne of Lynchburg, VA; grandchildren Shana Hoopaugh, Lee Lackey, chanda Cowart, Kyle Lackey; and four great grandchildren.


Funeral services for Doris C. Lackey will be conducted on Wednesday, January 21 at 2:00 p.m. from the Community Baptist Church with Rev. Kent Barrett and Rev. Phil Parks officiating. Interment will follow in the Lackey-Chandler Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6-9 p.m. Mrs. Lackey will lie in state at the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
